The company, which has been established in the country since 2005, will be demonstrating its bridge and civil engineering capabilities at the event.

Taking place between 9 and 12 November at the Hilton Doha, the conference is the only one of its kind that covers the designing, planning and delivery of sustainable bridges.

Over the years it has established a reputation as the regional event of the year, where the construction industry can be updated on market opportunities and innovations.

CCL Qatar was founded to service the company’s ever-increasing workload in the market, where it is heavily involved in the design, supply and installation of post-tensioning and bridge bearings. The company also carries out a great deal of repair and strengthening work.

CCL Qatar’s bridge work has included the Lusail Expressway and the Qatar Primary Routes.

The 5.3km Lusail Expressway is made up of four lanes of highway with additional ones to provide for traffic movement between the interchanges.

The project includes three large interchanges and has key interfaces with the Pearl, Katara, Lusail City Development and the future Sharq (Doha Bay) crossing.

The post-tensioning works for the Lusail Expressway’s prestigious Al Khor Viaduct and the elevated station for the LRT are now complete, and this saw CCL involved in the construction of three bridges having a maximum length of 90m on twin track viaducts, and four bridges 82m in length on the single track viaducts. In addition two bridges for the elevated platform have been built, both with a length of 40m.

With the Qatar Primary Routes, CCL undertook the post-tensioning works for three bridges on the North Road, installing multiple box girders with a span of 36m on the pedestrian bridges and a 35m span on the main bridge. The main bridge measured 90m in length.

The Bridges & Highways Middle East conference offers delegates the opportunity to network with more than 150 key stakeholders who are involved in the future development of upcoming projects.

The Qatar bridges and highways market is developing rapidly with plans progressing for Dohas iconic Sharq crossing; and the public works authority, Ashghal, announcing major new contracts for its Expressway Programme.

Demand for bridges and highways is also being driven across the region by the planned $200bn pan-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) railway network, Saudis significant metro expansion and Dubais $544m canal project.

CCL will be exhibiting at the conference on 10 and 11 November.

Scotch tape lift sampling is an easy, inexpensive, and effective way to do mould sampling in Hong Kong and China when a person—

(a) Sees mould growing on a wall, ceiling, floor, carpeting, furniture, heating/cooling duct register, or other surface;

(b) Wants to know whether a particular stain, discoloration, growth, or mystery substance on the wall or another surface is actually toxic mould;

(c) Smells possible mould odors (caused by the digestive gas emitted by mould eating the home, building, or contents) and wants to test a number of surfaces upon which elevated levels of airborne mould spores may have landed or been deposited, such as on walls, window sills, window and door trim, refrigerator top, kitchen cabinet tops, undusted furniture, heating/cooling duct registers, and the return air filter in the heating/cooling system; and/or

(d) Wants to test the inside walls of heating/cooling ducts for the possible presence of elevated levels of mould spores.

2. Take and Submit Pictures of Water Damage and Mould Growth

To supplement the collected lift tape samples, the property owner, manager, or tenant takes close up pictures with a smart cell phone or digital camera of any visible building water damage or mould growth, as well as pictures of the entire building, room, and areas from which the close up photographs were taken.

9. Test painted older surfaces and building materials for the possible presence of lead.
10. Collect samples of older building materials for asbestos lab analysis.
11. Do radon testing of the building;
12. Test clothing, drapery, carpeting and padding, rugs, furniture, furnishings, and other personal possessions for biological dangers such as bacteria, Ebola and other viruses, and toxic mold spores.
13. Whether done for a remediation and/or prevention purpose, decontaminate all building surfaces, furniture, furnishings, personal possessions, and heating/cooling equipment and ducts with high-tech decontamination gear and procedures such as:

(a) Rotobrush air duct cleaning equipment to remove mold spores, germ growth, and dirt inside HVAC ducts;
(b) fogging an EPA-registered (for use in HVAC ducts) biocide to kill HVAC duct germs, mold spores, and mold growth;
