Backridge Tree Service Makes Training Top Priority in 2015

Backridge Tree Service Makes Training Top Priority in 2015

Mary Esther, Florida (PRWEB) February 27, 2015

On Monday, Feb. 9, certified arborists from Backridge Tree Service traveled to Daphne, Alabama to teach a one-day class on aerial rescue to a tree service there. Aerial rescue is the term used to describe the actions and processes used to rescue a tree climber who has become injured high in a tree. It is incredibly dangerous and requires recurring training and an understanding of complex climbing systems.

Certified Arborists Rob Calley and Travis Morales put together a hands-on program that offered all students, climbers and ground workers an opportunity to engage in valuable training. The day started with gear check to make sure all ropes, saddles, lanyards and attachment hardware were safe and up to specs. Phase two had instructors demonstrating the setting of climbing systems in trees that are very functional in an aerial rescue, and then each student had an opportunity to set systems. Climbers then used the systems to ascend and practice the new techniques. From there, students learned basic aerial rescue picks both in a tree and on a spar, and then practiced it. Procedures for calling emergency responders were covered as well because very specific terminology is required. Finally, students were introduced to advanced single rope climbing and rescue techniques.

Overall, the training went great and Backridge Tree Service sincerely appreciates that this tree company cared enough to seek this valuable training.

Corboy & Demetrio Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit against Two Illinois Trucking Companies

The Chicago law firm of Corboy & Demetrio has obtained a protective order over evidence in the death of Donald Lundberg who was killed by a truck in Elwood, IL.

Online PR News – 09-July-2014 – Last week, the Chicago law firm of Corboy & Demetrio filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the death of a 51-year-old Vicksburg, Michigan man who was killed when a semi-tractor ran a red light and slammed into his car in Elwood, Illinois on May 30, 2014. On Tuesday, Cook County Circuit Court Judge John H. Ehrlich entered a protective order over the evidence, including preserving the tractor, its black box data, and all records pertaining to the driver.

The victim, Donald W. Lundberg, an aeronautical engineer, was traveling home to Michigan from his job in Illinois for the birth of his grandchild. The collision happened at the intersection of Arsenal and Baseline Roads, an area known for heavy truck traffic because of its close proximity to the CenterPoint Intermodal Center, which holds itself out as the nations largest inland port.

The lawsuit names as defendants the semi-tractors driver, Siefeddin M. Khattab, and the two Cook County, Illinois companies responsible for the ownership and operation of the semi-tractor, U.S. National Freight System, Inc., based in Tinley Park, and Transtar Express LLC, based in Elk Grove Village.

“The traumatic and untimely death of this devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather was made all the more tragic by the fact that it was entirely preventable,” said Corboy & Demetrio Partner Daniel S. Kirschner who is representing the Lundberg family. Kirschner added, “The negligent operation of this semi-tractor amounted to 20,000 pounds of carelessness upon our roadway, which resulted in the innocent loss of this vital human being.”

Kirschner explained, “This lawsuit was filed to force those who are responsible for this tragedy to answer one simple question: ‘why?’, and to prevent another family from suffering this same unthinkable fate. In addition to investigating the safety record of this driver and these two trucking companies, we will be seeking compensation for this familys substantial loss from the liability insurance carriers for these companies.”

Kirschner said, “It was necessary today to seek this protective order to preserve the evidence and prevent its loss or destruction.” In addition to his wife, Renea, Donald Lundberg left behind four children and two grandchildren.

Case #: 2014L6775, Renea Lundberg, Special Administrator of the Estate of Donald W. Lundberg, deceased v. Siefeddin M. Khattab, US National Freight System, Inc., and Transtar Express LLC., filed in Cook County Circuit Court, Illinois on 6-26-14.

Upgrade Your Bathroom – Where to Begin?

Upgrade Your Bathroom – Where to Begin?

Making improvements in the design of your bathroom may be difficult. Not to mention that it can be expensive. And so, we will provide you with tips that will help make this task a little lighter and help you keep track and reduce your expenses while undergoing the project.

Look at your bathroom. Evaluate what needs improvement. Remember that this task does not mean that you need to make an overhaul of your bathroom. Surely, there are items and fixtures are still in good condition and can still be used for a few more years.

Conduct an inspection of the room and make a list of which areas need to be painted, what color you need for those areas, what furniture you need to add/replace/dispose, and determine what general feel you would want your bathroom to have.

Clear the room. When you have decided that you want to repaint it, you need to take out furniture or cover immovable fixtures. Also when making major improvements with electrical lines or plumbing and drainage systems. You should prioritize your safety when repairing electrical lines by clearing the area as much as you can. When fixing pipes, you would want to avoid damage to your bathroom fixtures by keeping them away from possible splashes of water.

There may be a need to remove fixtures that are installed in the walls. You will be able to efficiently paint the walls when these are removed. Also, this will be an opportunity to paint the fixtures of a different color. After painting the walls, it will be okay for you to put back the fixtures and the bathroom furniture.

Clean the area. Especially when you are to do a painting job, you need to remove debris, dust, and grime from the area. This will ensure that you have a good result since you have a smooth surface to paint on. Painting on a clean surface will also significantly lengthen the time it would take for the paint to shed off.

This is also the best time to treat molds and mildew that have grown in the area. Look under the bath fixtures and other hidden spaces.

Measure the room and the furniture. When you are going to add new furniture in the room, you should make sure that they will fit. Generally, bathrooms have very limited spaces. So, take out your tape measure and start knowing the exact dimension of the room.

During this renovation, you might want to add more free space in your bathroom. Or, you may want to make it look less spacious. To have more space, you might want to reconsider having a bathtub and simply settle with a shower. And if you want to make the room look less gigantic, you can decide to add artifacts like candles with holders, carpets, flowers or plants, and a lot more.

Improve lighting. Lighting can make a big difference in a room. You can improve the lighting in your bathroom by making it brighter where it matters. The area in the vanity cabinet and the shower stall or the bath tub will be places where proper lighting should be installed.
